Grid Dynamics Analyzing System (GDA) – monitoring of dynamics

The Grid Dynamic Monitoring Relay DMR-D and the additional mobile version DA-Box 2000 provide the „dynamical“ view to your distribution and transmission grid.

news02More and more this background is becoming a topic for low voltage networks too reasoned by the big increase in decentralized power generation. Problems like voltage regulation of power transformers, Power Quality and grid stability are coming up there soon. Either as a fixed installation or even as a mobile solution, the analyzing of the damping behaviour is possible. Especially in frequencies below 50 Hz down to 0.5 mHz, so called “Hot Spots” (or better „weak points“) can be discovered. The damping behaviour for such low frequencies is becoming more and more important since the classical load scenarios of especially distribution grids are dramatically changing. Hence the damping abilities will influence future risk analysis and therewith become an essential factor in the investment strategy of utilities. The dynamic monitoring is helping to discover such weak points and to control the mentioned investments well directed.

news02To summarize: DMR-D is a monitoring device for the early detection of grid breakdowns, the identification of weak points in the grid, and also for obtaining data that is indispensable for safe network control.

This data is acquired by continuously recording the dynamic processes in the grids. Now, there is also a mobile version called DA-Box 2000, which is available on a loan basis (service) either.
