Voltage Regulation and Revers Power Flow

Decentralised power generation is now and again responsible for unacceptable voltage fluctuations in a medium-voltage system.

Decentralised power generation is now and again responsible for unacceptable voltage fluctuations in a medium-voltage system. In this case it is inevitable to replace older electronic voltage controllers REG-5A/E or old devices of other producers by new digital voltage controllers REG-D(A) on the substation level. They offer the adjustment of the setpoint value to the net environment in a flexible, quick, reliable and automatic way.

For further information refer to our operating manual REG-D (chapter 7.4 "programs, for example on page 110) or REG-DA (on page 226, chapter 15, "background information" ), available at our download center.

In the meantime there are several solutions available, which allow to react on decentralized generation in a good way; for example the setting of „regulation curves“ that take care for a current influenced setpoint decrease instead of an increase. These algorithms have been installed successfully in a lot of applications in the field till today.
