The freely programmable earth fault and short-circuit indicator incl. gateway, IT security
EOR-3D

A range of earth fault and short-circuit location processes in a single device
EOR-3D
The EOR-3D combines short-circuit and earth-fault location in a single compact device. The device combines the advantages of various location processes. Through the prioritisation and weighting of the location processes, they can be combined perfectly together. The EOR-3D can be addressed via various integrated control protocols, can read up to six devices via Modbus master and can also function as a gateway. IT security features and the freedom to programme the device make it a unique aid when locating earth faults and short-circuits.

A device combining numerous location processes in one
The earth and short-circuit fault indicator offers a wide range of location processes for both compensated and isolated networks; these can also be prioritised.

Compensated networks:
- Transient earth fault process through use of the qu2 and qui algorithms for one-time faults, intermittent faults (qui), faults in loops with large circulating currents (qu2) and erroneous resistances can be located in the kOhm range
- Active power direction process or cos(φ): Evaluation of the active power direction, active residual current increase
- Harmonics process with measurement of the associated power direction for a user-selected frequency
- Pulse location
- Directional or non-directional short-circuit indicator with configurable reset time
Isolated networks:
- Transient earth fault detection with the use of the qu2 and qui algorithms for one-time faults, restriking faults (qui) and faults in loops with large circulating currents (qu2)
- Reactive power direction or sin(φ) process
- Directional or non-directional short-circuit indicator with configurable reset time

It is freely programmable and so it offers flexibility
Using the LUA programming language, customer-specific functions can be implemented in the EOR-3D. Information can also be exchanged directly between several EOR-3Ds via Ethernet and functions can be realised based on this, e.g. monitoring functions for switching in compact switchgear.
The right control protocol for every application
The EOR-3D provides a wide range of control protocols that can be used in parallel or one-by-one. This means the EOR-3D can also be used as a gateway or RTU.
Using the Modbus Master Function, the EOR-3D can connect up to 6 devices (regardless of the manufacturer!) as Modbus slaves via Modbus RTU, translating the data into any other supported protocol and thus functioning as a gateway or RTU.
The following protocols are available:
- IEC 60870-5-101 / 104
- IEC 60870-5-103 including fault records
- DNP 3.00
- IEC 61850 GOOSE
- Modbus RTU (RS232, RS485, TCP/IP)
- Modbus Master for up to 6 devices

IT security incl. user administration make the EOR-3D fit for the future
From firmware version 2.0 of the EOR-3D, the AEToolbox parameterisation software communicates with the devices (AEToolbox >= V2.0 needed). In addition, a user/role concept allows the devices to be password-protected. Here, access via TCP (AEToolbox) and the front panel of the EOR-3D can be configured separately.

AE Toolbox
The perfect supplement to arc suppression devices: freely adjustable project planning and parameterisation software
The AEToolbox works on a project basis and impresses with its range of functions and the versatility that the program offers.
