Use of the Position Indicator Interface

The position indicator interface REG-F “D2” sends the notification of the contact bank of a tap changer via BCD code to the REGSys voltage regulator system. In parallel to this, the signal is sent to the relay contacts. A voltage is fed over the contact bank and refers to the connection “E GND” of the REG-F “D2”. The voltage can be derived from the device (characteristic E12). Switch contacts send the BCD signals to inputs EBCD 1 … EBCD 20 of the REG-F. The outputs trigger the BCD inputs of the REG-D, and 6 relay contacts provide the BCD code for further use. Relays and BCD outputs are supplied by the inbuilt power unit.
